Paying for AI Tokens

AI Tokens are the fuel of the AI Chat assistant and of AI Studio. This page covers buying them, where they land, and what to do when a payment does not behave.

AI Tokens are a separate wallet

Your account has two independent balances:

• AI Tokens for the AI Assistant and Studio. You can get them with free weekly allowance, or a pack you buy
• Account Credits for plans, resources, top-ups (1 credit = 1 EUR). You can get them with top-ups, gifts, affiliate bonuses

They are not interchangeable. AI Tokens cannot pay for a plan, and account credits cannot pay for AI Tokens.

What an AI Token is

An AI Token counts what the assistant reads and writes, one for one. Context it has already seen counts as a tenth, which is why a long conversation costs much less than its size suggests.

• a short question: a few thousand
• a full coding task in Studio: tens of thousands

The packs

Buy a pack from Account > AI assistant, or from the Studio window when your balance is empty.

VAT is added at checkout where it applies. Prices shown on the page are always the current ones.

How the balances are spent

1. Your free weekly allowance is used first. It refills every Monday.
2. Once the allowance is empty, purchased AI Tokens take over. They never expire.
3. If your own provider key is active, nothing is spent at all: your provider bills you directly.

Paying

• Card, through Stripe.
• Crypto, when that option is shown at checkout.

AI Tokens land in your wallet as soon as the payment is confirmed. A card payment is usually instant. A crypto payment can take a few minutes while the network confirms it.

Nothing is ever charged automatically. A pack is a one time purchase, not a subscription.

Checking your balance and usage

Account > AI assistant shows:

• AI Tokens left, split between the weekly allowance and your purchased balance
• a 14 day chart of what you spent, day by day

When something goes wrong

I paid and my AI Tokens are not there. Wait a minute and refresh the page. A crypto payment needs network confirmations first. If the balance is still unchanged after a few minutes, open a ticket with the payment reference or the Stripe receipt.

I was charged twice. Open a ticket with both receipts. Duplicate charges are refunded.

I bought a pack but Studio is still locked. Reload the Studio page. Studio unlocks as soon as the purchased balance is above zero.

Can I get a refund on unused AI Tokens? Ask in a ticket with the receipt and tell us what happened. Unused packs bought by mistake are handled case by case.

My AI Tokens dropped faster than expected. Long threads, large files and long log extracts all get read, and reading is what you pay for. Start a new thread for a new subject, and switch off the tools you do not need on the AI assistant page.
